10:13 pm - OH MY GOD!

Just had a missed call from Mum (her and Dad are at Big Chill) so tried ringing her and didnt get through so I rang Dad and he was like "Oh I have someone here for you to talk to" and passed the phone to TIM MINCHIN!!
I was just like OH MY GOD!!!!!!! Totally froze up and was like "I wish I had something witty so say but.. I really don't... YOU'RE AWESOME!!" and I asked him how the gig had gone and he said well and that he hadn't really done gigs in tents for a while and then he said something about being a rock star but I couldnt hear because the phone went a bit odd then was like "ah you're dads trying to pimp you out to me, says you're really hot" haha and he was like "were you a bitch to your parents when you were a teenager?" and I was like "nooo! we've always got on" and he was like "yeh they must be pretty cool, being at a festival" and.. eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
I'm still just so like OMG!! haha :D seriously so jealous that they even got to see him let alone meet him!!
Apparently Mum has a photo of him on the phone to me so I guess that'll have to do haha
Dad just rang again to see how I was doing haha apparently Tim said I was lovely when he got off the phone =3

11:13 pm - HIGHSCORE AT TROCADERO MUCH :D

So.. Got back from holiday on the 4th I think :) and then heading down to Hazzs on the 7th. Got there a little bit later than I was hoping due to oversleeping a bit but was middayish. We hung around Brighton for a bit but it was pouring down :( so we went to this nice cafe place we'd gone to before. It's so good for veggie stuff :) then got some comics and wandered round a few shops and headed back to Eastbourne.
We got in and Tom made homemade pizzas :D were so nice and then we watched Happiness -teeeense- but Tom left for work half way through so me and Hazz got to play our rules scrabble and then we played this game on the Xbox called Lips, one of those singing games. Was so shy as I'd never sung infront of Hazz before but once we got into it it was good :D at first we did songs we knew but then we started to doing all these songs like.. Umbrella and stuff and you all of a sudden realise you ONLY know the chorus and have no idea how the rest goes and it was just terrible haha was close to tears with laughing so much :D we also got this achievement for opening part of the menu that was like "Entering My Lips for the first time" lol then we headed off to bed :)
On the 8th we.. got up and went to town and got some food and stuff to make cakes with and went into Hazzs friends knitting shop for a bit :) was a bit nervous like.. meeting new people and stuff but it seemed to go okay :D lol even almost got set up with some person at one point haha uhm.. then we headed back home and me and hazz made cakes which were all chocolatey and super cute ^^ and then roast dinner was had :D which was really nice. Their friend George had come over at that point and then we all headed back to the shop. Didn't really fancying learning to knit so just sat and ate the cakes and chatted =B at first I was a bit scared I'd have to like.. not say certain things but once everyone else had I could just go with it haha. Afterwards we headed back and watched Half Nelson :) Ryan Gosling in his eye-rubbing goodness lol then headed off to bed. Oh at some point we also played SSBB and I got trounced lol :P only my second time playing though! and it was mental.
On the 9th we headed up to london with the intention of going to Madame Tussauds but it was like.. £25 to get in!! Srsly?! So we decided to go to the Trocadero arcade instead which was so so much better :D They're added some new games since I'd last been there. There was this one called Hopping Road were you stood on this platform and bounced like a pogo stick to get this little animal round a race track and leant over and stuff, it was great! Quite tiring though haha I won and we got the highscores on the game!! couldnt believe it :D highscores on the screen at Trocadero, it's not a srs game or anything but I dont care :P haha

Then afterwards the three of us went on this thing called HYPER BISHI BASHI CHAMP which was awesome! You each had like.. 3 buttons and had to hit them according to different mini games and it was so so much fun, getting overexcited and having really sore hands haha.
Then Tom and Hazz went on the DDR machine and me and Hazz went on a Dancing Stage one, which was cooool :)
Afterwards we headed off and got pizza :) and then walked around shops for a bit then Hazz and Tom headed off home and I looked around Oxford Street for a bit and then headed off too :) all in all I had an excellent time with them!!
Can't wait to see their new place next time I go back :) x

So.. I got a text today asking to confirm my meeting with Jonathan tomorrow.
I thought this was a bit weird seeing as a few weeks ago I asked Jonathan about resubmitting work and he said "Okay but wait until after the deadline, I want you to concentrate on this" then once it was after the deadline I asked when we were meeting and he'd conveniently forgotten ever talking to me.
So I was like oh? he's remembered?
Then I saw this email:"Dear Briony
I regret to inform you that you have failed the Developing Independent Critical Practice unit with a mark of 38%.
Jonathan would like to meet with you for a retrieval tutorial tomorrow, 2 June, at 2pm. He has requested that you bring with you your visual work and workbook if it is not still with Jonathan as well as a key piece of work produced by you that you believe to be a success, that can be used for further discussion.
Please let me know if you are going to have difficulty making the tutorial.

Sadly I actually thought I'd done okay on this unit.
Here's how the presentation went:
1. Firstly Jean said my Reseach Paper was wrong. I asked how, she said I'd been exploring two options instead of just saying what I was doing. I said "Well I wasn't sure what the research paper even was and my project wasnt decided" and she replied "oh, it can be about exploring the options" I was like.. but.. that's what I did?
Also; I went to see two tutors (the same two that the presentation was to) to get help on the paper. Neither gave me any direction or references. Just pitying looks and an attitude of "ho boy, good luck with that."
2. I said my use of a zoom lens was because the point of the final shots was to CAPTURE PEOPLE ACTING NATURAL. Not with a camera shoved in their face. The tutors said this showed I had no respect for people and I didnt like them, because I obviously wanted to not be seen with them. WTF?!
3. They said my photographs didnt work without explanation. WHO THE FUCKS DO?! Jean always bangs on about how we should go to exhibitons on the day of the artist talk to get an explanation of the images to fully understand them.
So back to the email, how am I meant to take along a "key piece of work produced by you that you believe to be a success" when EVERYTHING I've done this year has been marked down and all my confidence and self belief has just been crushed?
I can't face going in tomorrow because I'm shit at confrontation. My eyes will just well up and I'll sit taking all they throw at me. I wish I could get angry at people but I've just.. never even had an argument in real life with a friend let alone a teacher.
And this is my summer holiday.

I keep thinking I should update this but it's got to the point where so much has happened in the past weeks since I did that I couldnt begin to remember it all D: Maybe I'll make an effort of it sometime..
For now, uni is pretty much over and therefore summer has kind of begun so huzzah :D

12:14 pm - 10 points for the man

So just had driving lesson number 4, wasn't so bad despite over a week since my last one.
Headed over to Panshanger this time, was worried he was going to make me drive around Daniels so was a bit D: just got too many people who could see me around there.
Lesson went okay though :) there were.. 3 incidents really lol first being someone coming round a corner which had a car parked on their side and instead of letting me by they just accelerated and I had to brake pretty quick. Then another I was on the wrong side because of parked cars and this person just swung round a corner on the phone and slammed on the brakes just before they hit me, they just weren't looking at all ><
The worst of all though was stalling in the middle of this road when I was waiting for someone to pass by, I could just see the cars build up behind me and was trying to get all JUST GET OUT THE CAR AND RUN!! lol
At one point this old man and woman were crossing and my instructor (only 20 minutes late this time haha) just goes "10 points for the old guy, only 5 for the woman" lol he seems like an okay guy, not really been sure whether to stick with him because of the lateness and stuff but for now I think I will.
Got back and me and Zoe gave Mumdad their anniversary card :) (it had bees with googley eyes on the front and I wrote Happy Anniversabee, lololol) and now they've headed off for a day in London.
Might be seeing Loz later.. might even see Bridge, if he ever texts lol x

12:13 am - The bucket

After that entry I ended up going for a little walk and meeting up with Cake :) we lay on the campus roundabout for a bit just looking at the sky and talking. Was nice :) but ended up being a bit too cold so we went to the Tonic. Annoyingly I'd worn a big hoody as I was just expecting to be walking about so I felt like a scruffy 14 year old in there. And then who should walk in but Rob C :/
Hmm.. A while back I'd sent him a couple of messages on facebook and never got responses so I thought fine, just let it die, he blantantly just doesnt want to be friends, and I deleted him off my list. About a month later he replied and sent me a friends request, which I accidently clicked ignore on and then panicked because I couldn't then send one back because he'd know I'd clicked that. This being straight after I'd replied to his reply a bit narkily, I just hadn't wanted to seem too chatty after everything that had gone on. So after that, nothing.
Accidently made eye contact once, then avoided it (even when I had to walk past him twice to and from the toilet lol) but eventually it happened again and we both waved. Then I think he was saying something to the girl he was with and.. yeeeh I dont know anymore.
Then me and Cake walked over to near Simmons and said our byes and I walked off home :)
Next daaay I woke up too late >< meant to get stuff done in the morning which never ended up happening. Headed to uni and turned up about an hour early so sat online for a bit and managed to find out what all the stuff I'd missed on Monday was about. Asked Emma Day which I felt a bit bad about as I hate being one of those people who just talks to people when they need something :/ so I headed to the library and got some stuff out and ended up being late into the meeting lol despite me asking Jonathan if I could leave early he got me to go last, blaaah. My painkillers were wearing off and the chairs were doing my back in so I was fidgeting like crazy but it went okay.. I may have exaggerated how much work I've done though lol.
Afterwards I got the train home and then had a shower and got ready and headed off to Cambridge, but by the time I got there I was too late for the Jonah Matranga gig really :( so we ordered pizza and watched The Apprentice and You're Fired instead, still can't believe James didn't go!! I actually really miss the people from last years one, I'd kinda like to watch that again. I suppose I'm just not that into this years people as it's only 3 weeks in, ah well, shall see :)
Then todaaay.. Woke up and walked to the shops and bought some breakfast (dark chocolate hobnobs :D lol) watched some programme on iPlayer.. think it's called Newswipe? Was actually quite funny :) then we played some Scrabble and despite my brain melting I won :D but we didn't actually get to finish the game as Alex needed to do some work and someone was heading over for it so I got a taxi at about 4:30 and headed off home.
Walked home and cooked food for me and the parental unit, then dad went out and me and mum headed to Tesco, managed to pick up something for Zoe for Easter which was gluten and lactose free :D huzzah! And got the parental unit an anniversary card as its today :)
Anyhoo.. for some reason I've agreed to a driving lesson at 9am so I best head to bed.

So today I got up and went to walk to the doctors but Mum said I should get a lift which I didn't really want to as when I did I arrived stupidly early and had to sit in uncomfortable waiting chairs (the problem I was going for being the base of my spine) :/
Anyhoo.. when I went in there was a student doctor in there too lol always fun. After the doctor felt my back and.. practically arse, she was like "do you mind if she has a feel too?" sure, go ahead!
She just said to take painkillers three times a day and see how it goes really.
Picked up the drugs (hohoho) and headed back home and had a sausage sandwich which was actually rather nice :] but then got a text from Loz asking if I wanted to meet for lunch so went and met him and he bought me this iced chocolate milkshake type thing from Costa which was really nice :D ignoring the slight lactose intolerant pains that followed haha :P worth it though.
Then he headed off to Bradford and I walked home and here I am now! Just been catching up with other peoples livejournals really.. Is it sad that I generally read every journal or twitter post by people? Most likely.
To be honest I've felt pretty naff today. I had two dreams last night, one was that Alex didn't want to be my friend anymore and he was just being all.. stuck up I suppose and like he really didn't care. And the other was that Terry came round my house but was with this gangster spy who he'd joined sides with and eventually he stabbed me :/ but I told him about it and he says he won't so thats good :)
Reading through peoples livejournals hasn't helped.. I just feel a bit.. I don't know. I suppose Ive not had a group of friends in years and reading about people hanging out with other people just makes me feel a bit.. unneeded or something? Like what role do I actually play in my friends lives? I tend to know individuals and when I remember they have this other group of friends I just feel so easily removed. I know this is obscene as I actually saw like.. 5 different friends this past week but still.. I dont know.
Not sleeping very well and being achey all over isn't helping :/ any sleep I get is totally unrefreshing. Something needs to change I suppose, just need to work out what.
Last day of uni tomorrow atleast :) project thing that I'm totally unprepared for. And I still have things I was meant to hand in the other week to hand in, blah.
Oh and I got turned down for an internship..

8:16 pm - Operation Catsup
|
The fifth week!! I know no one will actually read this.. I'm doing it for me and don't expect anyone else to lol.. Anyhoo..
Monday 16th- Had an analogue workshop. It was about controlling contrast with pushing/pulling the film. We had a talk about what we were going to do and then went out around Rochester taking photographs of high/low contrast scenes and then headed back up to uni and had the workshop showing us how to manually develop film. The 5x4 part was great because we went into this entirely seperate darkroom and obviously it has to be pitch black (not like in normal darkrooms that have a saftey light) so we were just.. stood in darkness, listening to film develop for 15 minutes lol Wanted to get on with developing afterwards but when I went to Stores to ask if I could they seemed a bit.. eh about it as it was after 5 so just headed home instead.
Tuesday 17th- Missed the morning lecture with Dans Holdsworth but went in for the project briefing. I can't think what it would've been for. Oh I think it was just about having to choose which short project we were going to carry on with. I can't really remember lol :B
Wednesday 18th- Had my second driving lesson and the instructor turned up 1 hour and 20 minutes late :/ srsly wtf? I got a text saying he'd be there in 15 minutes and that was like.. 40 minutes before he arrived. There wasn't really any apology when he turned up either. Anyhoo.. the lesson was a bit naff. Apparently I was saving all my stalling up for that lesson lol.
Was late meeting Hazz because of the lesson being delayed :/ but we still had a great day :) headed to the Plaza first because I hadn't had time to eat and then we went to Forbidden Planet and bought each other comics (birthday exchange hehe) and then headed over to Green Park and chillaxed :) saw this woman feeding a squirrel, was so cute. Then we headed over to Leicester Square and.. oh at some point we also went to Cybercandy via this awesome bead shop, and got Age some Strawberry Pocky :D oh and we went to Trocadero and played some games. ANYHOO Leiscester Square, got some eats. Went to this place that was a bit like a naff Wetherspoons, cant say the food was too good :/ on the way back from Trocadero we walked by the premier for The Damned United, got to see some famous faces :D was kinda exciting. We were stood where the cars were driving in so every time a car drove by it was a bit ooooooh who's in this one?! lol Saw Jim Broadbent, Timothy Spall and Michael Sheen, and then Michael Parkinson and either Trinny or Susannah.. and the guy who played Chris in the first Skins :D we waited there quite a while and then headed to the tube and went our seperate ways, was a good day :)
Thursday 19th- Went into university for the Independant Critical Practice proposal with Jean (choosing which project to carry on with). I'm going to do the Individual and the Collective, doing the actual project instead of the journey thing. Current plan is use Cosplayers or LARPers.. go from there really :) She seemed to find it quite interesting and gave me some ideas to go on with. Afterwards I headed down to Ages.
Friday 20th- Me and Age headed into town and ended up getting lunch looking out at the sea :) got a baked potato, nomnom. When we got back Jayden was there :) Um.. can't remember much else! We went out to a gig of a band who.. the drummer was the one from Contravene basically lol they were a bit naff. Blink 182 and Clash covers pretty much lol I felt a bit old to be there at first but it was quite a good laugh. At them mostly lol Afterwards we went to a different pub (us, becky and phil and tom) and had a drink there. It went a bit.. bizarre. This guy Age had known in primary school came over, obviously very drunk and was just talking random shit and then trying to play slaps with Tom and stuff like that and then Russel and the guy Age made the racing game for came in so he was talking to them and I was just sat in the middle not knowing what to do. The guy offered to buy us a drink so Age went over the bar where he'd been and picked up what he thought was my drink and bought it over, I took a sip and was just like.. yeeeh that's not diet coke and it turned out it was just a random drink that'd been there when we got in O_O felt a bit sick afterwards, but I think it's just because I was worrying. After that we pretty much headed home, interesting night lol.
Saturday 21st- April and Jayden headed up in the day and Ages nan was there too, spoke to her for a bit. Then she headed out with Ages parents and we went out for a walk with the dogs, was quite sleepy when we got back. Becky and Phil came over and we ordered Chinese :D score. Hadn't really had it when it wasn't a special occasion before. Me and Becky went to pick it up and Age and Phil prepared the table and stuff lol It really nice :) then we headed out to the pub for Ryans birthday with him and Verity, Tom turned up a bit later. Was quite nice just sat chatting, there was an odd band playing in the background though lol and at one point I got a bit narked because Ryan was banging on about "Why is weed illegal?" and I've just heard it so many times and the whole "This one time I did mushrooms!" etc etc I've heard it since I was about 13 and it's really boring and unimpressive lol so I was a bit too vocal about this :P and felt a bit awkward, basically just turned to Age and went "Oh not THIS conversation, I've heard it SO MANY TIMES, IT'S JUST BORING." or words to that effect and then Ryan looked up and we made eye contact and I was like D: but after we walked home he gave me a hug which was a bit odd but.. guessing there's no bad feelings. I've kinda come round to Tom a bit more recently too, he's not as bad as I first though he was but to be fair my beef with him was that he looked down on me from the second we met and didn't seem to want to let up but.. now he has I suppose. Anyhoo.. another interesting night.
Sunday 22nd- MUMMYDAY! Got off to a bit of an odd start. April and Adrian had arranged to do a bbq for their Mum, but whilst they were sorting stuff out his Mum was getting annoyed because their Nan had booked herself out for the day to do something and she was all "oh so no one can spend any time with her?" and then she kept saying she wanted to go to some garden centre and eventually she kind of stormed out :/ April was still shopping for stuff at this point and Age was still cleaning the bbq so it was a bit gaaaah. At the same time we'd said we'd go for a walk with Becky&Phil and Jon with Spot and the dogs which we kept having to push back and eventually cancel so Age was miffed and it was all blah, but it worked out in the end :) Got some burgers and sausages out of it too lol April is veggie too and she was doing the cooking so that helped :) nom nom nom Gave my mum a ring and said I was sorry I wasn't there, also sent her a message on twitter lol IT IS THE FUTURE!

6:23 pm - Operation Catch Up

Onto the third week of catching up :B go go go..
Monday 2nd- Had lectures in the morning, started talking to Aimee a bit before hand and then sat next to her when we went in. At first I was a bit awkward because Im just so used to sitting on my own in lectures lol but it was nice, she is lovely :) um.. Tom said nothing that made much sense to me lol and then we watched that Dali film, THAT one with the eye getting cut. Was just too early in the morning for it, not that I'd want to watch it at any time of the day haha and then he showed some scenes from American Psycho, American Beauty and Fight Club. Afterwards was Carolines lecture about THE INTERNET AND ITS EVILS!! lol was just about how people will trust opinions which reflect their own kinda thing.. not much faith in the newspapers but we'll watch a youtube blog and get worked up about it as if it was fact.
Was kind of nodding off throughout, really need to learn to get early nights.
Tuesday 3rd- Had the project lecture from Chris Coekin.. I say project lecture lol He just showed us his work for hours and then said we should go on a journey like he did in The Hitcher, recording it on film. And then someone piped up "but... how does this relate to the project brief?" and Chris was like "whats the project brief?" "Individual and collective" "oh.. I didnt know that" so he was running a project that he didn't even know the title of lol so it was all a bit up in the air and everyone was confused. I think people were also a bit annoyed as it seemed as if Chris just hadn't.. made the effort to know the project and when the tutor isn't fussed you don't feel like you have to be kinda thing. Ah well.
Wednesday 4th- My birthday :D w00t. So.. what did I get up to. Had a lie in lol that was my first present. Then I headed downstairs and opened stuff up. I hadn't really wanted anything to be honest.. got some chocolates and a From me to you bear hehe and the choice of either a tv or some driving lessons, went for driving. Afterwards me and Age headed out for a bike ride. Went through the woods and down to Digswell and took some photographs on the horses :) and then headed back home, got a drink and then went to the swallow holes (saw Lloyd and Mikes mum on the way hehe) where I got stupidly nervous and when I eventually did go for it I went over the handlebars and fell on my face lol smoooth :D the front of the helmet flew off too. I think I turned at the last second and tried to go over a really steep bit or maybe squeezed my right hand as a natural reaction, either way I just realised I was going forward and then felt the bike over me lol got a bit scratched up on my face and got some massive bruises on my legs where they hit the handlebars and floor, not too much damage though. Put some photos up on facebook naturally haha :D We headed back home, went a way I hadn't been before and ended up at the end of Bridge Road that I'd never been before.
When I got back Mum and Dad were like D: and then "is the bike okay?" or "that'll look good in the photos.." lol so had a shower and then Kay and Jim came over quickly and gave me presents and had a chat and then we went and got chinese from Hoy Che that was great :D nom nom nom. Very worth the wait. Afterwards we watched Dark Knight which was pretty good :) super hyped up though because I waited so long to see it lol and then went to bed :)
Thursday 5th- Had to head into university, in PAINS! I was just so achey and my face was still scratched up. No one asked any questions though lol Was in for a project proposal seminar thing with Tom for the Individual and Collective. Had to join a different group as I'd missed mine (they decided to swap the groups over the day before and I didn't want to go on my birthday lol). I just said I'd go on a journey and record it like The Hitcher really.. except not hitchhiking obviously lol. I can't remember much else from the meeting. Afterwards headed back home.
Friday 6th- Met up with Hazz and headed to Frankie and Bennys, met Samantha and Jon and got a box of presents :D like jelly beans and a mug and silly string and a pikachu hehe and a card with all the new coins in but the pound, I was super happy at that, been trying to collect them all for so long :D I didn't realise other people were turning up later but we sat down and started food, pretty much everyone got a pizza except Age lol and then Wookie showed up later. Again, photographs on facebook lol. Samantha bought us a cake as it was Jons 30th on the 1st, my 21st on the 4th and Hazz's 22nd on the 12th lol :D Then we headed across to the arcade for a bit waiting for Nick and Jess to show up and then played some bowling :) was fun, but I did really bad. Took some continuous shots on my fuji camera of bad bowling and other antics lol, must find out how to edit them together. Afterwards we headed home, good night :)
Saturday 7th- Met up with Hazz in town and walked around for a bit, then went into Game and she let me use her discount to buy Wii Fit :D headed back to mine and played some board games. Played Scrabble and then this game where you get a card that either has bad or good news on it (like "the good news is nan is visiting for your birthday") and then you throw a beanbag to someone who has to say either a good/bad news response, and then it carries on round the table until someone either gets it in the wrong order or can't think of a response quick enough. Hazz kept on just replying with "the good/bad news is I'm sexually aroused by..." for her response haha afterwards we walked down to the train station and waved hazz off :)
Sunday 8th- Again I can't remember! Sundays just seem to be a blur to me.

5:46 pm - Part 2 of Operation Catch Up

Week 2 of about 7 to catch up with lol :D Here we go...
Monday 23rd- I got a cold >< That's about all remember. I lost all my sense of smell and taste which sucked because...
Tuesday 24th- PANCAKE DAY!! Didn't get to have pancakes though :( Waited for Age to head up and made pasta bake for us both. He turned up pretty late I think.. about 11pm or something? And I was all mong and tired lol.
Wednesday 25th- I can't remember D: this is a very vague week lol.
Thursday 26th- Decided to change my idea for Global and Local to being about how we're kind of..local to ourselves but can reach out to the world. So wanted to shoot people on the computers in the library. When I got there though they said it's a public place so I wouldn't be allowed. So on the walk home I came up with a new idea, using macro (as when I explained my idea to Dinu Li his first question was "How will you show that with macro?" lol) showing hands in ways in which we enter new worlds (lololol) so I chose.. books/games/internet/text/letters bit of an odd collection I know.
It went well though :D I liked the photographs. Had to focus the photograph myself, and then tell mum to press the shutter release cable. At some points when it was too far away I had to pose, get Age to focus and then tell Mum to press it haha My assistants :D had to print them out on the home printer because of limitations with time though.
Friday 27th- Headed into uni for the Global and Local presentation. I was pretty nervous because I liked the photographs which usually means my tutors won't. And I wasn't wrong! They had absolutely nothing to say about them. Just looked, looked displeased, asked some vague questions about the order (when I said they weren't meant to be read as a series) and then asked if anyone else in the group had comments or questions, which no one did. That was it! I spent the rest of the session in stubborn silence lol.
Headed home afterwards and then me and Age went out bowling with Helen and then went to watch Benjamin Button which was actually pretty good :) pushed the boundaries of paedophilia lol was quite sad though, but had smiley parts.
Saturday 28th- Can't remember what we did during the day but we got ready to go out to see Jon for his birthday and he cancelled just as we were leaving because people had kept cancelling or hadn't been able to make it and I think he was a bit disheartened :/
Sunday 1st- I can't remember :D lol

8:30 pm - MOAR SNOW!!

On Tuesday I went out and played in the snow :D at first when it snowed I got a bit :/ as it just reminded me that I used to go to Hazzs every snow day and I felt a bit like.. "I HAVE NO ONE TO PLAY IN THE SNOW WITH!!" lol but me and my parents went out and made a snowman :D and then I made a snow moomin, the two of which can be seen here and here. The snowman was over 6 foot.
On Wednesday uni was open so I headed in for a lecture, but the trains were still a bit naff so I ended up super super late. That and I had to get the tube and I freaked out :/ ended up getting the train instead. I went and sat in the library and read Animal Farm until the break and went in for the second half of the lecture. Though it wasnt overly useful as.. basically Jean just shows pictures on the screen and says the names, and it's not like photographers are called 'John Smith' or something, it's impossible to get all the spellings right and then you can't find them later so it's a bit frustrating.
Got a couple of books out anyway.
On Thursday I headed in for a workshop, which was meant to be with Dan Holdsworth but instead was with Jonathan. There was nothing I learnt on it that couldn't have been taught without wasting the time, effort and money that was spent on travelling and the film. We basically went out to some field and then it turned out the camera I got had no long exposure setting so I had to do multiple exposures (yay for camera shake from the mirror moving all the time) and he had no idea how long for. One minute he said 15 seconds and the next he said 4 minutes so it was like.. wtf? So I wasted £17 getting there and £5 on film that probably got nothing. FUN!
Then today I was meant to take the camera back but woke up feeling naff and so just phoned up and said I'd take it back on monday. It was snowing as well sooo.. yeh. Lazy day for me :) x

4:48 am - SNOW!

There was a lot of snow today. Well, yesterday.
Woke up at about 6:30am having been awake till gone 4am ._, yay sleep pattern. Decided to just leave uni and stay in bed though lol when you're getting 3 trains across 3 counties the likeliness is ONE of them will be delayed. So I didn't risk it.
TThen at about 8am I got a text saying not to come in anyway so it paid off :)
Instead spent the day just doing internet things really. Cooked some eggy bread in the morning which was actually really nice :D and then just been doing things on DeviantArt. Trying to be more active on there as I've applied for a position, I mean in April I will have been on there 6 years so it'd be nice!
Uploaded some photographs on there just now :) and made a journal collection of some other snowy/frosty photos.
Um.. OH! Made a new friend, in #Whores of all places lol guess it isn't totally dead. They randomly added me to msn and seem nice :) they're from Cornwall and were amazed that even they got snow lol.
Anyhoo... Should probably go to bed x

I really have become lazy with LJ lol it seems once I keep up to date with another part of the internet (in this case, DA) I just slack off on other ones. Same with all parts of life I suppose.
Anyhoo..
On Friday I went down to London with Mum early in the morning and we headed over to the Absolute Radio studio :D we were quite early so walked around Carnaby Street and Oxford street and got a drink and stuff and then headed back. Had to wait in the lobby for a while and then saw Chris Martin walk in :D it's so weird seeing someone in real when you've seen some many videos and photographs of them.
Eventually we all headed upstairs into the recording bit, about 30 people, and then they were like "After this song we'll be live on air so switch off phones and be quiet" etc etc and then Chris Martin came out :D
His voice is so good, and he's a pretty funny guy as well. You can tell he loves what he does as well and his hearts really in it.
At one point he asked if everyone could hear him okay and everyone said yeh cept this one guy who yelled "Pardon?" so he was like oohh! got a joker have we? come to the front of the class!! lol and then he pulled this dead serious face and just went "Dont you ever fuck with me again." and then burst out laughing, was lols :D then asked the guy what song he'd like to hear and he chose The Scientist :)
They might be putting a video of it all up on the website so hopefully if I'm in it I don't look too goofy or starstruck haha.
Afterwards me and Mum walked up to the plaza and had some eats and then went over to Camden and walked around for a bit and then headed home :)
Had some food and then went over to Sams for a bit. I was worried I'd annoyed him the night before as I just feel really down since being back at uni and rarely strike up the motivation to leave the house :/ so we'd said we'd hang out and I'd kept being like yeh sure in a bit.. in a bit.. and eventually he just said you know what, forget it, i cant be arsed and gone offline :/ and we've NEVER been annoyed at each other before so it felt so bad. I sent him this big message on facebook explaining and apologising and we're fine now :)
And then.. yesterday I didnt really do anything and today has been rather the same :B haha.
I will be good at updating from now on, honest :D x

Tuesday was the first day of term, had to go in for some introduction to the course. Was avoiding looking at Jonathan throughout the whole thing. Seriously he makes me not want to be there so much. The way he talks is just so damn annoying. He'll say 100 words to explain something that could've taken 5. Blah.
I just really wish he wasn't the main tutor, just like.. a project one from last term so I wouldn't have to see him for the whole of the term.
Anyhoo.. so yeh Ive got the timetable now for the year. It's all going to be short projects from now on like.. you get the brief and have a week to shoot it. Which I suppose is pretty cool and keeps it fresh and doesn't allow for slacking off.
Supposed to have been going to galleries these past two days but I started to get stomach cramps on the way back from uni, it got so bad I was shaking really badly at London Bridge, must've looked like a right druggy or something :/ really sucked.
So yeh I've pretty much spent yesterday and today just.. internetting :B lol but I dont have chlamydia! So that's a bonus :D They sent out a text saying "All is well, no need for further contact. CSO." and I was so confused.

Yesterday I headed down to London and saw Hazz :) we were going to meet at Victoria station but when I got to Kings Cross the victoria line was closed that weekend D: so instead we met in Camden. Walked around the market for a bit before she turned up and then we met aaand went to the comic shop, I handed in a CV but I don't reckon they'll get back to me really.
Then we walked up to the vintagey market bit, went into the new one :D Horse market or something lol it was pretty cool :)
Saw this stand that had such cute tshirts :D like.. this crocodile on a skateboard and it was actually made of fluffy material, was really sweet. Bought a new purse but so far I've had too much change to fit in it lol but it's a pink gloomy bear one :)
Then we headed over to Oxford street and I bought a Pendulum album from Zavvi and then from HMV I got.. CDs by Rilo Kiley, Bright Eyes, Sigur Ros and also bought Persepolis.
We also went to Fordbidden Planet but didn't really see anything I wanted. I've already got enough comics to be getting on with anyway :)
Walked around some other shops and ooooh went to Pizza Hut :D our first pizza together hehe
Then headed to the tube and went our seperate ways :) was great seeing her though.
Then today I headed into town and saw Matt for a couple hours, just the usual drinks and chatting lol good times :D x

Yesterday I wrote and handed in the worst essay of my life. I started it at around.. 1am? and worked on it until about 7am. Just emailed it in as I really couldn't face the journey lol.
Im expecting around.. 10%? haha.
Ah well.
Then today I got a chlamydia test in the post lol :B I'd like to just state now that I didn't take it because I thought I might have it :P it was purely for the hell of it, and being allowed to send urine through the post legally, which isn't a common opportunity.
It was kinda fun though :D like a mini biology kit haha.
And now I have a week off :B x

8:50 pm - Loooong update

On the 6th I went in to uni to hand in the camera and tripod, then afterwards went to develop the films I'd shot. None of them came out :( well they did but they were really underexposed. Hardly anything was on the negative. Grr ><
I had a big rant in text to Alex and then phoned Age and was just saying I didnt know what to do but he said he would head up to mine so I could reshoot them on 35mm so I was really thankful for that :)
When I got home I'd said I'd see Loz but I was in a really shitty mood, but I knew I'd be more annoyed if I let a bad day get in the way of seeing friends so I headed over to his and then Mike came over too and we watched Ratarouille :D and I cuddled Loz's super cute toy badger lol Then Mike walked home and Loz was giving me a lift back and driving kinda quick so I said "oh in a rush to get rid of me eh?" and he was like no! so to prove he wasn't he drove me to Stanborough lake to see if it was frozen :D which is was hehe and then we drove to St Albans to see if the lakes there were frozen. Just as we pulled into the car park, another car drove in and there was NO ONE else around so I was kinda like shiiiit.. and they pulled up next to us and it was the police! haha. they just asked what we were up to and then left.
I kinda chickened out when walking to the lake though so we sat on a bench and talked for a bit :) then he drove me home at about 2:30am, it was so nice :)
Next day, Age headed up after his bloodtest but it was a bit dark to take photo's so we just chillaxed :)
I can't really remember what we did over the next couple days. All I know is at some point I took photographs of him, shot two rolls, one 24 and one 36, with three different lenses and two cameras lol huzzah!
On the 10th we headed down to London to meet Jamie Smart :D we got to the Science Museum in good time and then walked around Waterstones for a bit. When he walked in I recognised him straight away and was just like D: gah! Was all shaking and fangirly haha. Finally we queued up to meet him. Noticed other people had bought along Bear and stuff and I'd only got Space Raoul as I thought it was just for signing that D: ah well, still met him :D Age went first and told him about the flash he'd made for him and Jamie was like oh yeah! thank you! which was nice and then it was my turn and I was just like "damnit I've been thinking of something cool to say since before december and I've still got nothing" lol still, was great to meet him, he really does seem like a nice person :)
Soooo then we headed over to Topshop and I bought some new jeans and then we headed home :)
On the 11th I got the photos printed and then was just working on my workbook.
The 12th was spent also working. Ran out of printer ink and they didn't sell it at John Lewis so was like shiiiit so dad said he'd head over to Tesco but THEY didnt have it either so he went to PC World in Stevenage :) saviour!
I worked through the night and then left for uni at about 7:50am, still doing work on the train and in the library when I got there.
The project meeting was absolutely SHIT. Seriously. Jonathan barely looked at my work and when he did it was down his nose. Then he told me I wasnt sociable enough, I wasnt in the darkroom at peak times, I hadnt experimented with the project enough and that I brought nothing to the course.
First of all.. FUCK OFF what does it matter how social I am?! Im sure not all photographers are big party animals.
I HATE the darkroom at peak times, you walk into people and look like a twat feeling your way around. There's a crowd around the machine so everyone sees your prints that didn't come out and it knocks my confidence.
How did I not experiment enough?!! He told me to shoot some more, over the holidays I shot THREE ROLLS OF FILM and when they didnt come out I shot two more. He'd sent out an email saying that the darkroom was priority to the groups who had their meetings first and then it was the weekend so I couldnt go in!!
I just sat there with tears in my eyes and totally gave in. Well done Jonathan, you made me want to quit. REAL FUCKING PRODUCTIVE.
...Anyhoo.. Rang Alex when I was on the train and he cheered me up a bit. And then got home and had to wait for Age to get back as he'd been at Watchlytes meeting the new headteacher, but when he did he gave me big cuddles and we ordered pizza :) I still felt like shit but it was nice having people trying to help.
Next day Age went home though :( le poop.
And then today I've just been bumming around.
